Reid Richards & Threepeeoh (Expatriots members)

Friday, February 1st, 2008

So I posted Some King Robot and due to popular demand I give you a side project of two members of Expatriots, Reid Richards & Threepeeoh. This is a mixtape which focuses less on politics and more on deviant counterculture. It’s really fascinating how different the same two guys are from one project to another and yet still really compelling. Hip hop mystifies me sometimes. The album is called 66point6FM. Amazing stuff yet again.

King Robot EXCLUSIVE

Friday, January 25th, 2008

The first thing people think when you tell them that you’re in Atlanta is that you must see famous rappers hanging out in parking lots on giant cars with giant wheels spinning all the time. While it’s true that I’ve met some famous rappers on more than one occasion since I moved here, the guys who roll in Buicks with spinners rolling around aren’t rappers, they’re fakesters.  The truth is that Atlanta is pretty tolerant and really diverse. Especially when it comes to rap.

A co worker of mine once told me that there was a major rap magazine that had only awarded a perfect score to one album that didn’t come from NYC. I wondered how that was possible with Rappers like MF Doom and King Robot hanging around Atlanta, which brings me to my post.

King Robot has an unorthodoxed style to say the least but it has to be among the most creative music I’ve heard in a long time. What If Eminem had a doctorate in physics… It doesn’t matter because we already have King Robot. These tracks are MUST HAVES.
